Helping you work toward your goals
My name is Amber Hooper, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in both Oregon and California. I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years. During that time, I’ve come to deeply appreciate how unique each person is and how every individual carries their own meaningful story. I have also witnessed the incredible human capacity to learn, adapt, heal, and grow — even through life’s most difficult challenges.
In supporting that process of growth and healing, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s specific needs. My primary modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on clarifying values and building meaningful, goal-directed change. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Imago interventions for couples, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and elements of parts work.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we will discuss and determine which approaches best fit your goals and comfort level before implementing specific interventions. Your therapy experience is centered on your needs, your pace, and your growth.
I commend you for taking the first step in seeking support and learning more about the therapy process.
